Dr. Jennifer Weizer is a professor of ophthalmology and the medical director of quality, safety, and outcomes at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute – University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She completed her undergraduate education at Columbia University and The Juilliard School.  After graduating from medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, she completed her residency in ophthalmology and her glaucoma fellowship at Duke University Eye Center in Durham, North Carolina.

Following her training, Weizer joined the University of Michigan Medical School faculty, where she treated glaucoma and cataract patients and developed a leading program in quality improvement and patient safety for ophthalmology. Weizer diagnoses, manages and treats patients with glaucoma both medically and surgically.  She also specializes in the surgical management of cataracts in patients with glaucoma.  Her clinical and research interests involve ophthalmological patient safety, quality improvement, clinical outcomes, as well as glaucoma clinical and surgical care.
